1. Who We Are
Allons-y! is an educational application developed and operated by BottleneckLabs.ai ("we", "us", "our"). Allons-y! provides interactive French Immersion practice exercises for students aligned with the Ontario (TDSB) Grade 4 Middle French Immersion curriculum.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Allons-y! you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are under 18 years of age, your parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms on your behalf. If you do not agree, you must stop using the application immediately.
3. Parental / Guardian Consent
Allons-y! is designed for use by children. Account creation requires a parent or guardian email address. By providing a parent/guardian email and creating an account for a child, the parent or guardian represents that they have legal authority over the child and consent to these Terms and our Privacy Policy on the child's behalf.
4. Use of the Service
Allons-y! is provided for personal, non-commercial educational use only. You agree to:
- Use the application only for its intended educational purpose
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or distribute the application
- Not use automated tools, bots, or scrapers to access the service
- Not attempt to circumvent any rate limits or access controls
- Not upload, transmit, or input any inappropriate, harmful, or illegal content
- Not impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
5. Accounts & Data
Account creation is optional. Without an account, progress is stored locally on your device and may be lost if browser data is cleared. With an account, progress is synced to our servers. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. See our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.
6. AI-Generated Content
Allons-y! uses artificial intelligence (powered by Anthropic's Claude) to provide explanations, generate adaptive exercises, and facilitate conversation practice. AI-generated content is designed to be educational and age-appropriate, but may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies. AI-generated content does not constitute professional educational advice and should not be relied upon as a sole source of instruction.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and materials within Allons-y! are the property of BottleneckLabs.ai or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the application without our prior written consent.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
Allons-y! is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. We do not guarantee any specific educational outcomes from using the application.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, BottleneckLabs.ai and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of Allons-y!, whether based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), or any other legal theory, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability shall not exceed CAD $50.
10. Indemnification
You (or the parent/guardian of a minor user) agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless BottleneckLabs.ai from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of your use of the application or violation of these Terms.
11. Service Availability & Changes
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue Allons-y! (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the application after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Allons-y! at any time, for any reason, without prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the application ceases immediately. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
13. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Ontario.
